This year the event was held in Radisson Hotel
Quite a big upgrade compared to previous years

Most of the night was spent in the Hall
Where we were entertained with performances by our own students
No pictures here cos it was all dark inside
And the organizing committee set us graduating class in the front row

After that, we had our dinner at the banquet hall
Had Malaysian Cuisine
However the food wasn't quite enough to fill our tummies

1st time to a cinema

...in Moscow!
After nearly 6 years here *shame*

Well at least I have reasons la ok
They sub all the movies in Russian and there are no english subtitles
And maklumla my russian not so the power
English cinemas are hard to find, and the films are always very late

But I decided it was time to try it out
Partly because morning shows are at a discount *hurray!*
And I only have a lil less than 2 month left here anyways
So it's now or never

Went to Prince Plaza's Boomerang Cinema
We planned to go for X-Men Origins: Wolverine since it's more action than talking
However...It was no longer showing *whyyyyyyyy???*
So had to settle for Night at the Museum 2
Sad to say I could only understand maybe 50% of the jokes, if not less
Other parts that I don't, I just guess la LOL

But it was nice to finally set foot into a cinema after like....
8 months!
Comfy chair, surround sound speakers, popcorn and all =)

Weekend gone wrong

This is supposed to be a nice, relaxing weekend
As I just had my last day of the semester yesterday

However....I got another SMS from Daddy yesterday night
Which I didn't see till I went to bed ~3am
(bcos I use my hp as my alarm clock)

I got to know my grandma got a heart attack
And was in the hospital
That's all I got from the SMS

I quickly replied to get more information from daddy
He asked me to prepare for the worst
Her condition doesn't look so good
That's when the tears came

Summer 2008, the last time I saw her

I knew this day would come
I mean she lived a long life
She hasn't exactly been in tip-top shape for a while
I've told myself that time and time again
But I guess I am not mentally prepared for this sudden event
I tend to not think of unhappy stuff

I prayed to God, asked to keep her safe
That she'd survive this somehow
Put my hp in loud mode, should I get any updates
And I fell asleep

Woke up at 7am to another sms from Daddy
Only to find that she has indeed passed away
I cried myself back to sleep again

For a long time she has been my only grandparent
She has never been a very talkative person
However she was ALWAYS smiling
Every single time I saw her
It is the sweetest and most sincere smile I've ever known
That I will never forget.

I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can
At least now, she can reunite with grandpa
And hopefully, wherever she may be, somehow she regains her memory
I do hope that she can remember all the happy times she had spent with us
I am gonna miss her SO much

Why haven't I updated my blog??
Apart from being lazy that is...

I've been busy reading The Twilight Saga!!
Finished 3 of them in just 2 weeks - Twilight, New Moon & Eclipse
And I'm halfway through Breaking Dawn as of right now...

It is actually quite amazing
As I'm so not a storybook person
The only books I've read are those from Enid Blyton
And not a lot of them too

I heard a lot of Twilight last year
There was a big hype about it but I didn't take notice
I watched the movie not too long ago
Thought it was not bad, not totally Crazy about it

But then I started "researching" more about the twilight saga
On YT, the net etc...
REwatched twilight a few more times since then

And now I'm totally in love...

I mean like...
How can you Not love the lead actors?

Swoon!

So yeah, the movie motivated me to read Twilight
And like it always is, the book is much better
More detailed and you could see how the relationship advance better from the book
One thing leads to another and now I'm already at the 4th book

Well, e-book actually since it's free*cough* and easier to bring with me
I don't know why I didn't start reading earlier
It's a great way to fill in my time with the 3 hours travelling I do everyday to get to class=|
I also read it before bedtime every single night
Guess that explains the lack of sleep...=P
I just can't put the book down

So until I finish Breaking Dawn
*still contemplating reading Midnight Sun because it's just a draft, I might wait for the completed version*
AhPau will be too busy to do anything else
Hehehe....

First day of the last semester

Officially starts Today...

I'm having mixed emotions
Partly happy that I'll soon have my M.D.
And I can finally leave this place forever
Back to my lovely island
Where the sun shines everyday =)

Soaking up the Egypt sun

However, I don't think I'm ready to "grow up" just yet
Just like how I couldn't wait to finish high school
But when the day actually came...I wished it didn't come so soon

As much as I loathe this place
I actually think I'm gonna miss it, just a tad
The freedom from parents, oh don't we all just love that
We can do whatever we want, and we won't need to answer to anyone but ourselves
Independence

And the public transport here
Never failed me before (well it did once, I wanted to blog about that but I got lazy)
If I leave on time, I know that I'm gonna be where I want to be on time
Intervals between each Metro is 40seconds at peak hours
Up to 5 mins non-peak
Rather convenient shall I say
But of course nothing beats being behind the wheel la

Transition from being a student to a working professional is never easy
As students we just have to worry about our studies
And having fun =P
The rest Daddy will settle them hehe
When we start working, gotta worry bout all the insurance, tax, car loan, house loan, blablabla

Oh gosh I've been on blogging hiatus for soooooooo long
I don't even know where to begin

After resting for 3 days post Egypt I thought it's time I updated

The content of this post should be of relevance so...

This is how I welcomed in the New Year!
*take note, NOT Chinese New Year, but new year as in 1st January 2009*
Sigh, how more outdated can I be?

Ok it was a long night, so let's begin
1st we had a new year eve dinner
Potluck style as always

Mmm....a close up of the food we spent the whole afternoon preparing...

1) Siu Bak by yours truly. Looks kinda like the real thing eh? Tastes like the real thing too! *gleams with pride*
2) Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken Wings (a.k.a Dak Kang Jung) by yours truly too
3) Char Siu by Irise. Slightly burned cos she was busy talking to the FC hahaha...
4) Chiu pai tauhu by BC. Turned out alright, room for improvement
5) Siu yoke by SV! Mmmm...I can feel the fat melting in my mouth
6) Spicy Stir Fried Brocolli by Irise, which I did not take a close up off bcos, well...who does? LOL

Then, we went to Kremlin for the countdown
We reached rather early...10 something
Bcos we heard there would be crowd control
In the mean time, we took pictures!

Everyone just cheered suddenly as we were still busy joking around
After that only did the clock tower started ringing
Signalling that 2009 is officially here!

After that we went back to the hostel to continue the party!

And continued to pour drinks for everyone

Last Raya in Moscow

Kinda depressing but at the same time delightful
To know that I'll soon return to my hometown...Penang
Depressing cause I'll have to start working and it's the end life as a student

So we went to the Malaysian Embassy for the Raya celebrations

One of the reasons why we weren't so eager to go
But since it's our last year...

Luckily we weren't very late so food was still abundant

But it was so good! No wonder it's the 1st to be gone

But after it left my hands I didn't see anymore of it =(

I've updated a total of 18 times in the past 1 year period

So I guess it doesn't really matter if I update or not

I must say I do get a little paranoid when I start getting comments from strangers
Or when I get just a tenny-bit more readers
Feels a bit like intrusion of my privacy(?)
Not really la right since I willingly post up for the world to see
However this world can be a very scary place
But I don't want to make this blog private either
So....I stop updating
Haha!

OMG! I just opened up my photoshop to edit some pics to be put up here
And I realised that all my customized brushes and fonts are GONE!
They died together with my harddisk which crashed a month ago
*cry*

So anyone reading this, remember to back up ALL your documents!
Learn this hard lesson from me
Together with the hard disk is also all my pictures that I've collected throughout a period of 4 year!!!!!!!!!!
But luckily I managed to salvage some of them from friends
Sigh...thinking of it just makes my heart break

Yesterday was quite 'eventful' so to speak
So I must write it down before I forget

Well it was the 1st time Annie actually sayang-ed me voluntarily!
No force hugs, kisses
She just came up to me and said "Sayang kor kor yi shia"
Eeeee...so happy ok!
But today she totally ignore me again -_-"
Everytime I go near her she'll run away
Sigh...kids

The day I reached Penang
I wondered if she remembers me
She smiled sheepishly and turn away and hide behind her mum when she saw me
So considered remember or not ah?
After all it has been 10 months since I saw her

And oh yes, all the ladies in the house went for herbal sauna
My 1st ever!!
On top of the hill on the way to Balik Pulau
It's actually FOC but there's a donation box
So you can pay/not up to you really

A bit dodgy la the place
Just a simple brick room, 1 for the girls, another for guys
Honestly, I liked sitting outside breathing in the fresh air rather than in the sauna
My ahso thought so too
Haha...
Not to mention the view from up there is pretty awesome too

Yes I'm having the worst breakout of my LIFE right now
Ever since the day I came home daddy has been bugging me everyday

But ya, damn sad
Hopefully by the end of July? my skin will improve la...

The day she came into this world and brightened up our lives
I honestly believe she did
Now everyone has something *someone* to look forward to coming home to
And the little little things she does that cracks us up

CNY Eve Reunion dinner
We just got back from Berlin
And BChin asked us to join them for the dinner!
So we basically crashed their reunion dinner =P
They cooked loads of stuff, even with the 4 of us we almost couldn't finish all of 'em

Next up! Had steamboat with few close friends...
Supposed to be on the 1st day of CNY la
But postponed a bit because of classes
Remember my 2nd semester started chunchun on ChehIt!

It's the end of April and this is my 1st post of them month
Nice.

Wished I could update more often too
But well, life as a medical student ain't all that interesting
There's really nothing much to write about
And besides getting busier by the day as exams are approaching

Whatever free time I have, I'd rather spend them doing something else
You know like,
Cook myself a good dinner and enjoy them while watching dramas/movies
Surf blogs, not write them, cos the former is obviously easier
No need to use brain you see. =)

So anyways I'm still alive!
I'll see if I can pry myself away from my usual routine this weekend
To update this dusty blog of mine
Public holiday on thursday and friday! Hip-hip hurray!
But dammit I think I have class on Sunday...

Right now I'm having forensics
Ya...more theory than practical don't worry
And we've got little exams everyday that will be counted in the exam

Outdoor Ice Skating

I just realized it has been TWO freaking months since I updated!
Sorry ler I had to stop blogging for 1 month to prep for my exam
Then right after I left for my winter tour for 2 weeks
And then the day after we came back from tour, Therapy cycle started!!
Potatoooooo~~

Now that that cycle has finally ended, I have some free time d
Alas...can breathe a bit
Which is why we went Ice Skating!!

My FIRST time ice skating in Moscow!!
I know right...AFTER 4 and a half years
Been wanting to for a Long long time but no one wants to teman =(
There's actually an ice rink at the shopping complex I frequent for my weekly groceries
But I never did try it there

The one we went today is at an amusement park
It's an open space, and best of all, Free =)
We borrowed the skates from friends

I haven't ice skated since the one in BJ Complex closed down like...5-6 years ago?
Missed those ice skating times with me friends

Thank goodness I still haven't forgot how to skate
But have not improved either...hehe

It wasn't very cold today
Around 0 degrees
Which was why half of the ice was melting!
So our area to skate was quite small
However, at least we didn't have to freeze in the cold =)
You win some, you lose some I guess

There weren't many people today
Perhaps we were early
Which is good cos we had the whole place to *fall* all we want =P

SV was first blood of the day...haha
But after he went to practice at the beginners place
He improved tremendously lor!

I can proudly say I did not fall on my butt today *yaih!*
However...my lower back is killing me right now!!!
*Mai jin lau pun beh* =(
Which basically translates as...Shit I'm old!

Today I missed class for the 1st time this semester

On the last week of classes nonetheless
Because I carelessly forgot my Metro pass...

Which by the way...almost never happens
(the part where I forget my metro pass and also where I miss class)
If I didn't borrow it to my roommate!!!!!!!

She did not reload her pass this month and borrowed it from me on saturday
And naturally...forgotten to return it to me

Why does this always happen to me?
When she asked if she could borrow it
I again had the uneasy feeling...like the one I felt b4 *click*
It was like my subconcious was warning me of something

I never have to like deliberately remember to bring my metro pass
I just never had to
Because it was always with my bus pass, student card and my hostel card
They're inseperable and conveniently placed in a holder
And is strategically placed in my coat
So I wouldn't forget and neither do I have to remember

Never leave home without these...

I was already a little late than normal today
The bus didn't help by coming late as well
And when I reached the metro station I just had to scan the little holder I have with the metro pass inside and the signal would turn green and I could just walk in
It's just that simple. No worries. No nothing

Imagine the horror when the signal did not turn green when I tried it repeatedly for 3-4 times
In my mind I was telling myself "This is impossible!! Why??"
I walked to the side, so that I wouldn't be in the way of the morning rush of people going to work to check my holder only to find that my metro pass wasn't in there!!!
And then the scene where my roommate borrowed my pass flashed before me

Oh shit...there I was, late and without metro pass
Nevermind la I thought, I could still buy the normal entry pass for metro which will cost like 15 roubles!
I reached into my bag for my wallet and.....
This couldn't be a more perfect day to forget my wallet!
Arghhh...worst thing is all my friends were walking in front of me and had already went into the metro station

Why oh why god are you treating me this way?

I caught the next bus back to my hostel
And by the time I got back, it was already the time class starts

So here I am....blogging....
When I should actually be in class studying about diabetes in children
And cooling off...you can't imagine how pissed I am right now
She's still sleeping her day away behind me while her alarm clockS has been ringing non-stop for the past hour
Annoying the shit out of me (You would be too if you had been experiencing the same thing every single day for the past 4 months)
Oblivious to what had happened...

From today onwards...
NOBODY borrows my metro pass or my bus pass!
End of story.

I have to learn to say no to people sometimes
I'm just a sucker who can't say no to people's request
So yeah...

I lie half awake and read the sms with disbelief
I stunned for a minute
Trying to register what I just read

The news just came as a complete shock to me
To my family
It's just too fast
How could it have been so fast?!

We all knew she was sick
Diagnosed with SLE just a few weeks before her long-planned wedding
That was just a year ago
Could tragedy not strike at a better moment?

25 years is just too short a time

The cousin that I've known since I was born
Who lived just 3minutes from each other
Whom I cycled to see every single day to play with

We played dress up together
Cooked mamasak countless time
Went cycling round the neighbourhood practically daily
Held our tanglungs together every tanglung festival
Wore red clothes and collected angpau together during CNY
Gambled and burned fire crackers together on CNY
Played kite, kalitoi, bakuli, one leg, high jump, hide-and-seek, AEIOU with
Sneaked out to the playground, being caught together
Bought and ate junk food together
Played pranks on our other cousins
Taught me mandarin
Self-made me beautiful scrungies
Played mini pianos with
Watched and helped out in uncle's bicycle shop with together
Collected the red beans from the tree in the school to play with
Ate, bathed, slept together

We were close even though we had a 3 years gap

Then as we grew up, we drifted apart
Work commitments, naturally we made other friends....
We saw less and less of each other

Although in recent years we've practically never spoken
You're still one of my closest cousins ever

You'll surely be deeply missed.
Just thinking of the time we spend together during our childhood makes me tear

I'm so sorry I can't be there to send you away...
Hope that you've finally been reunited with your father and our grandparents
Rest in peace Ooi Ewe Lin

The horror when BC pointed it out to me...

What makes it worse is that I just had it washed
The week before!!!

Lesson learnt: Avoid standing near roads with fast moving vehicles in Winter.
But then again, I think it applies to all seasons =)

Picturesque Post~!!
Seriously this has got to be the most pictures in a single post i've done so far. Such a PITA to edit them, took me half a day...!

*I* think that food is the closest thing to home that you can get
Not phone calls, SMS, chatting online, or any amount of pictures can make you feel closer to home
In fact, through my experience, browsing throught the tons of pictures I have stored in my harddisk makes me EVEN MORE homesick

I guess that's why I turned to cookin!
I like cooking
Cooking releases stress
Because all that is in my mind is how to create a great meal
And nothing else
Drowns out all the stress I feel in class
And being 5000miles away from home

Let's begin.
As a Malaysian in a foreign country,
When someone asks you what your national food is...
MOST of the time, we'll say Nasi Lemak!
There are TONS of other food that I can think of
WHY does it have to be Nasi Lemak?!?
I don't know why, but like a true-blue Malaysian, I follow and not ask.

I think one of the first food that you will miss will be Curry
Any kind of curry, doesn't matter
Cos...well it's not that easily available *not here anyways*
Think Nasi Kandar...=(

Next, home cooked food
How many of you actually cooks at home?
Not many I'm sure
Cos MOM always does it for us
Every single day, without complaining...
That's what I call *selfless*

Just because I never have to
Mummy takes care of all that

Sorry haven't been blogging for such a long time!
Almost 1 month d

I've been kinda "busy"
Busy as in I'd rather do other stuff than blog
But it's coming back to me now....I guess

The past month has been such a routine
I wake up in the morning
Go to class
After class come back watch 1-2 episodes of whatever series
Take a shower
Prepare my dinner
Surf internet
Prepare for tomorrow's lesson
Sleep

See? No time to blog.... =P

Plus my computer was acting up on me lately
512mb RAM, 60Gig drive is definitely no longer sufficient!
Need to upgrade!! *when I have the money that is...*

So I formatted my computer...TWICE!
That was one hedious process!
I had to move like 40gigs of stuff from my com to my external disc to BC's com

And then just a week after that I got Spyware!!!
ARGH...frustration
I've almost put everything back to place and I had to do it all over again
See? Two weekends gone just like that

I've also just downloaded the new Photoshop CS3
Upgrade from my previous CS2
And I'm taking time to get familiar with it
Imagine my horror when I realised that...
I FORGOT TO SAVE THE BRUSHES BEFORE I FORMATTED MY COM!!!
Omg u dunno how much time I've spent to compile those brushes I love so much

See! This happens everytime I format my com!
I'll definitely forget something!!

You see because of that

OMG...my first Autopsy!!

Yes. I still cannot believe it.

I just saw my 1st autopsy on 19th Sept 2007!!!

I've always been interested in CSI on discovery channel
Loved the series too
Which is why I was so curious of how it would be like
To actually see a *fresh* dead body cut open like that

OH plus after I read on k0k's blog that they are required to observe autopsy 3 times in 2 years if I'm not mistaken
I was SOoOOoo jealous
"Why didnt Russia have this??!!" I exclaimed out loud to myself...

Before this we only get to play with preserved cadaver
*btw...formalin does NOT smell nice..the way i'd put it is... it's like wasabi. no need further explanation. hehe*
But obviously this time we didn't get to cut or do anything
Just observe

Ok memory a bit blurred now since it's almost 2 weeks ago
I'll try to write down what I remembered
So yeah...you can stop reading here if you're faint hearted

The Pathology Anatomty Building...

Here, every morning the doctors will have a conference of somesort
Where every department will have to present all the patient histories to the specialist
So just like any normal days
We will either be snoring away at the back of the hall
Or reading some of the materials for the day

*NOT that we're lazy, but we can't really hear what they're presenting from way in front as they're superbly soft, plus they talk really fast, and they use really complicated words, not like how our lecturers would talk to us in class*

On this interesting Wednesday
You could almost sense that something was wrong
As a lot of doctors were discussing/debating about a particular patient
Who passed away in the middle of the night
And that they didn't know the cause of death
So everybody was kinda worked up by that

And it caught my attention right away
So I listened attentively to what they were saying
Then I heard them say "вскрытие"
I literally jumped up from my seat from my previous lazy position

Although I didn't know what exactly that word meant
But it sounded a lot like *open up* !!
What else if not Autopsy??
I eagerly asked all my classmates around me if anyone understood that word

"Did he just say autopsy??!!"
"Dunno..."

After the conference ended,
Our teacher told us that we're going to see the Autopsy
"OMG!!!" I screamed inside my head
So nervous almost sam-pat-like

MonkeyFace, InAllSeriousness, LawakKing =P

79 year old grandpa, obese
Came in with hematuria
After 2 weeks died of sudden dyspnoe in sleep

When we went into the room where the autopsy is going to be held
They had already cut open the abdomen
There were 2 people working on the body
1 is the pathology anatomy expert
And the other one I call him....TheHumanButcher
Because seriously, he did all the cutting up and pulling out
Haha...

So there TheButcher was, using a saw-like-thingy to SAW open the rib cage
It wasn't a pretty sight
I believe I actually frowned a little...

Basically TheButcher cut everything up
Hand it over to TheExpert
Who will then proceed to inspect every single organ externally
After which he will thinly slice them up to check for abnormalities
Yes, slice by slice, every single organ
Kinda like the organs they keep in the jars in Pathology Anatomy department

1st up was the lungs
Found extra fluid in the pleural cavity
Pneumonia in the right lung

The heart itself was hypertrophied
I can't remember if there was atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries...
He was speaking pretty fast and it's hard for me to digest everything
You know, with the body distracting and all...

Then he inspected the whole alimentary system
And yes, from tongue to anus
TheButcher is so good...
No idea how he got the whole system out in ONE piece

Stomach ulcer, pancreonecrosis, steatosis of the liver, kidney infarct...
The patient was pretty sick

So somewhere in the middle
He asked us (students+doctors) to move back a little
As he wanted to turn the whole lump of internal organs
You know just in case the blood decided to be funny

We moved quite a distance until TheExpert said
"No need so far la"
Everyone burst out laughing

After TheButcher was done with the abdominal cavity
...obviously he proceeded to crack the skull la right
YanHan beside me kept saying
"Oh no oh no, I don't wanna see his face"
"Hey have to see la, you don't see ppl cracking open a skull very often, quick turn and look!!"
"No noooo..."
Haha...

Saw, hammer...it was pretty tough
He spent quite a few minutes on that
Managed to make like a flap/cover thingy
Which can be replaced after inspecting the brain
See how cool TheButcher is =)

No abnormalities in the brain
Except maybe a little edematous

TheButcher concluded he died of Pneumonia
I might have missed out some details but this is what I remember

We left after that
Didn't get to see how they sew up the body
I think they were pretty brutal
They just threw all the internal organs into the abdominal cavity
So yeah...the anus might be up at where the esophagus is supposed to be
O_o"

Post-autopsy, in hospital compound

Hmm...which is why...
I'd prefer not to have an autopsy ever
Well, if you'd need an autopsy that'd already mean that you died an unnatural death
So yeah, nobody would want that...
OMG What am I saying?!! *slaps forehead*

Oh yeah, in the middle of the whole thing
I saw a whole box of make up behind me and thought it was weird
Until 2 seconds later it suddenly hit me
And I "Oooohhh...."-ed to myself in my head

That's the end of my little experience

10 weeks of bliss

That's right
My summer holidays officially ended a little over 2 weeks ago
Now I'm back in iceland

Time flew by *way* too quickly
I didn't have enough time to meet all my friends
Haven't got enough of Annie
Did not ate all my favourite food
Did not go to loads of places I wanted to
Did not have enough bonding with my family

Suddenly I find myself sitting on the floor of my little room again as though I just woke up from a dream, like I didn't even go back to Malaysia for summer yet *I wish...*
Reminiscing the past 10 weeks of my life
And trying to imagine how my life's gonna be for the next 10 months
*It's sorta like a ritual I do everyyear*
That deja vu feeling overcomes me each time without fail

So anyways, I guess the sick-of-blogging bug infected me for the past 2 months
Hopefully I'm fully recovered now =P
I can already sense my urge to blog slowly coming back to me
As I found myself snapping loads of pics in the mall just now
Haha...

Btw...I'm a FIFTH year medical student ya'll!!
OMG, why do I feel older, but not any wiser than I was 5 years ago?!!

Can't believe it right?
Only 2 more years and I'll be home, and tortured by the specialists in hospital
When I was in 1st year, my only vision was to finish medical school
Now, I kinda don't want it to end so quickly... =(

Sigh...
2 weeks has passed
I finished my first cycle already...Opthalmology
Was pretty interesting, KIV for specialization...LOL
I also had to pay my fees plus register at my university
Which explains why I was MIA for 2 weeks

I spent the whole of yesterday editing pics I took in summer and emailing them to the rightful people
I can almost hear them say "Finally!!"

Very very little time left for me in Malaysia!!!
Ever since I'm back, every single weekend is filled with plans
And I've got only about like 5 weekends left!

Not to mention have to cut out 10 days for our little trip back to our China kampung mid August
Yeah...I'm going back to meet some far far relatives back there
Whom I don't even know exists (neither do they know who I am)
And have never seen/talk to in my entire life

But of course there's the 2 day in Hong Kong at the end of the trip that I'm looking forward to
=D

Yeah so basically the free time that I have is mostly dedicated to Annie
My lovely but naughty little niece
Oooo...pictures soon
It's so hard to get her to sit still at one place
Thus camwhoring with her is quite the nuisance you know

Oh yeah...as I said...weekends are filled with plans!

It's been almost 3 weeks since I am back
And I'm loving every part of it!!

Now that my little practical in GH is over

Food to be savoured
Relatives to visit
Catching up with friends

Speaking of which, I'm going down to JB this weekend to visit an aunt
Will be making a pitstop at another aunt's place in KL 1st tonight
Before driving all the way down to JB the next morning
Then we'll be dropping by my cousin's place in Singapore
Road trip with the family yaih~!

And last weekend we went up to Genting for Fei Yu Ching's concert
Who is that? you might ask
Haha...I didn't know either until the concert

Being at that concert made me realise how much of a banana I am
I didn't get the jokes he made
And when he impersonated some famous singers in the chinese entertainment world
I didn't have a clue what he was doing

And it's so sickening listening to everyone around me laugh their heart out
While I sat there...dumbf*cked

I turned to my brother a few times and asked him
"You understand what he just said?"
"No ah."
"Then why are you laughing along?!!"

Ish...

Out of about the 50 songs he sang
There was only ONE song that was familiar to my ears

Massad came and went pretty quickly
It was an event all students of my uni has anticipated for
The only day everyone is entitled to wear something nice/slutty
~~And not be talked bad behind their backs~~

Yeap, it was our very own Malaysian Students Annual Dinner
Sorry forgot what Massad stands for =P

This year's dinner was soooo much better than last year's
There's nothing much to complain about except...
Well the hall was too darn HOT~!

We were sweating like pigs inside the hall which I suspect did not have any ventilation/air-conditioning at all!
It was so darn hot, I quote someone "Our dresses were stucked to our butt!"
Pitty the guys...most of them were wearing suits!!

Yes...3 hours!
I know some of you are rolling your eyes now!!
I envy the guys actually
Both my housemates took like 20 minutes? at the most to get prepared

While we girls had to carefully plan what to wear
Go to countless shopping trips to survey for our attire
Have make-up sessions with our besties to try out the kind of make up we want to put on that night
And also did I mention the experimenting with different hairstyles?

I can still remember anticipating her birth in Moscow
While daddy kept me updated through sms
It's been 1 full year!

But of course I only got to spend 2 months with her

How fast time goes by
Once again, it's only 40 days left till I get to cuddle her again!

We've just finished our week in the traumatology department
Where we learnt about...
Battle wounds!

Like how cool is that right?
GSW, head trauma, wounds on the chest
And most importantly, how to treat them

Finally!
Something more practical that we might come across in our everyday lives...

I love my teacher
He is very systematic and he also simplifies things
So that we could understand better
*unlike other teachers...*

He taught us last semester as well
Last sem was focused on bone fractures

He demonstrated to us how to put the plaster of paris
And I got to play the role of the traumatized patient =P

I still have the cast!

Finally pushed myself to update this blog of mine
I kinda lost the urge to blog
Since returning from St.Petersburg
I wonder why....

Anyhows...the past week I have been spending my time in a Mental Hospital
No worries, I'm not there as a patient
But as a student =P
We were having our psychiatrry classes there

Honestly, if there is a hospital I would like to be in
It would be This hospital
Not that I would like to be crazy or what
But because this hospital is located in such a nice place
Loads of trees, beautiful flowers everywhere

And guess what, it's the patient themselves who does all the maintainance
Like raking the leaves, gardening, sweeping walkways...

If I were a patient, I think the only negative point is that
The doors are always locked
And I mean each and every door
Only the medical personels have keys to them

Ever watched The Others?
It's kinda like in that movie
Where Nicole Kidman opens and locks every single door she passes

Saw some interesting patients I would say
Ranging from those who drank too much alcohol and started hallucinating
To those who are talking to their dead mother
And even one who can control the whole world with her mind alone

Learnt that there's no such thing as "ghost"
In medical terms that is...
There's only hallucinations or delusions

Sometime last week
My washing machine decided to KO on me
=(

My faithful Samsung washing machine that I had for 3 years plus now
You have no idea how much time and energy it saved me

I call it my miracle washing machine
Because it has had its fair share of problems since years ago
But after a while, it'd heal itself spontaneously!
Kinda like getting a cold and recovering from it

Let me recall...
1st it wouldn't spin, but after a few days it'd be spinning again
Then it would make a LOT of noise while spinning
After a while it was fine again

I know this time it won't make that spontaneous recovery again
Because the belt kept coming off repeatedly

In another bad news,
Yesterday, my PDA decided it's time it up as well!
*sobs*

OMG...so beyond repairable...
I had no idea how it became like that
I was using it in class earlier and when I came home and took it out of my backpack

I hate being away from home!!
Especially for such a long period of time *6 years*
You don't know how much I've been missing out
Family and friends...and everything else

And it's even worse when I'm so close to my family
A big family
I've mentioned before that Daddy has 9 other siblings
And although we're not living in the same house
We all stay pretty close to each other
No more than 1km apart

It's nice to have a close-knit family
Celebrations are something to look forward to
Gatherings of the many aunts, uncles and cousins
And the newer generation, nieces and nephews

But having a big family also means that there are more funerals to attend
That's life right?
You laugh when babies are born
And you cry at the loss of a life

The thing is...I never get to share all those anymore!!
Malaysia is just too far away
Whenever something good/bad happens
I'll almost always be the last to know

Probably my parents don't want to bother me with it
They never tell me when something happens
Till everything is over and settled
Funerals, weddings, births...

Like the time daddy had operation on his knee
He told me AFTER the op

The time he had stones removed from his kidney
He also told me AFTER

And today I got to know...
My uncle passed away last week

We stayed in the same house when I was little
Like less than 5 years old
I wasn't particularly close with him
But I still remember him quite vividly

He was tall, thin, dark-skinned
Because he had to work under the hot sun everyday
I remember sitting on the front porch early in the morning
He would drive past our house
Driving the cement mixer, which was filled with water
And he'd pour the water onto the road in front of our house

*omg i'm crying as i'm typing...*
I remember seeing his smile while he was passing by
He always smiled, I've never once saw him angry or throw his temper
He was always cheerful
Even the time we visited him in the hospital
Nasal cancer I was told...

As far as I remembered, he only had one transport
His super old fashioned bicycle
You know the kind with very big wheels
Black in colour

I can't believe the last time I saw him was on my birthday celebration
It's a pity I wasn't closer to him

Still...he will be missed dearly

The skinheads here worships him like crazy

And so I heard, that every year around this time

And so because Malaysians are generally erhmm...weak, scared, lazy
Our student body have already applied for classes to be cancelled
Apparently so that we can stay home and be safe

Don't be so happy yet
Unfortunately, it's only for 1st till 3rd year students
Not for 4th to 6th years

Ironic really bcos 1st to 3rd year students have classes in the university
Which is just like 15-20 minutes away
And 4th to 6th years have classes in hospitals
Some of which might be damn far
*think 1 and half hours away*

So who do you think is in more danger ah?

Nothing I haven't seen before...

Thanks to daylight savings which just kicked in today
1 hour ... gone!
Oh my precious 1 hour of sleep...

Well I think the reason behind light saving is...
Bcos in spring/summer it gets bright earlier

For example b4 the time change, sun rises at 6am
The daylight savings requires us to move 1 hour forward
So now sunrise is at 7am!!
And then of course you'll get more sunlight in the evening as well
Get it?

Damn *ma fan* la all these 4 season country
Gotta change time la
Gotta have 4 different type of clothes for each season la

Ahhh...the pains (& joy?) of staying in a hostel

Money-sucking agent who
Cramps just about too many students in it
Old, *very old* electrical wiring
Which almost burned my room, together with me in it one time
(I'm serious about this)
Ugly old furniture
Which we had to replace on our own with furnitures we bought from Ikea
*Thank God for Ikea...*
Rat-infested space behind the toilets where the pipes go through each floor
And a bedbug-infested room

That pretty much sums up the condition of my hostel

I had the privilage of staying alone in a small lil 3 by 4m room for the first 2 years
Until last year, when my roomie, SuSenn moved in

We eat, sleep, study, practically do everything in this small lil space
There's no kitchen, living room, dining room watsoever
Just a room

Yeah life's tough here in Moscow
SO! As a roomie, your job is basically not make our lives here more miserable

Here's AhPau's guide to being a OMG-i-love-you kinda roommate/housemate
NOT oh-man-i-wanna-dig-out-your-eyes roomie
Just something I collected from my own experience ;)

1) ALWAYS do your duty
Seriously, everything has a system. A big company, a school, and even a house. Imagine if your mum decides to mogok for 1 week, not doing the household chores, everything will be topsy-turvy I tell ya! If everyone does their job, then everything will run out smoothly.

There's nothing more I hate than a person who doesn't do the duty assigned to him/her. Firstly, it's so freaking unfair to the rest of your housemates, and you're just a lazy selfish *sshole who don't wanna contribute to the cleanliness of the house. So what if you don't mind living in a filthy place, I definitely DO!

The duty roster is there for a reason. I'm not your mum, and I don't like to nag friends to do their duties.

2) Sleeping time is from 12am-12pm
That's just a rough estimation. Anyone who sleeps at the time OUT of that range, is seriously deranged. And especially so if you're a light sleeper. Because it seriously f*cks up the other roomie's day. A full day in a dark room + not being able to make any sound, which means a whole full day where you can't do anything at all, is DEPRESSING ok!

Sleeping from 6pm-2am, then staying up for the rest of the night. Super wrong!!
Sleeping in....right, who doesn't like to sleep till past 12pm on a lazy Sunday afternoon right? WRONG!! Another case of f*cking up the other person's perfect Sunday.

3) You dirty, you clean
It's just a simple rule really. You spill soup on the table, wipe it! You accidentally pissed on the toilet bowl, wipe it! After using mop, wash it! Very hard meh? Not really right?

4) Always wash cooking utensils after using them
Never leave it in the sink for too long a time. There may be other people who needs to use them (the utensils or the sink). Oh and did I mention must clear all bits n pieces of food from the sink too?!

5) Never throw tantrums!
Hello?! Like how old are you d? You're in university for God's sake. Still wanna throw tantrums like you're at home? Slamming doors, plates, cupboards, table tops are SOOOOO unacceptable! Oh so childish and irritating at the same time.

6) Put a smile on your face whenever possible
There's nothing more depressing than coming home from class and seeing a grumpy looking roommate. Of course unless you have an exam coming soon, then you're excluded.

7) Never hang laundry to dry more than 1 day
1 day is very much enough for your clothes to dry. Never leave them for days or weeks = because there's only so much space and hangers to hang your clothes on. And oh yeah, make sure you leave a few days interval between clothes washing, give you roommate a chance to wash his/her clothes too ma!

8) Whatever I tell you, should never leave the room
Just imagine the fury, when you tell your roomie something and then the word gets out, and worse of all they come back to you with an different meaning altogether! If I didn't tell them, who else did but you? I've seen this happen before, thankfully not to me...

9) Never leave dirty socks, underwear lying around
Need I say more? So far I've never experienced this but thought it's something I should point out..hehe...

10) Never throw an unexpected gathering at the room without the permission of your roomie
Sometimes people just need some peace and quiet in the room.

11) Keep your personal space tidy
Like your table and bed. It's an eyesore & headache to come back to a messy room.

12) Maintain a good personal hygeine
Don't wear your socks for a few days until they're all smelly and yucky before changing them! Wash your bedsheets every month at a minimum. Shower at least once a day, no one likes your body odour.

13) Get a keyboard that doesn't type loudly
There's nothing more irritating then when you're trying to sleep/study and there's this bugging keyboard sound coming from your roomie. Looking at the amount of time we spend on the computer, it can prove to be a patience-tester...

14) If you do accidentally spoil something, you either fix it or replace it
Don't act dumb like it wasn't you and just put it back to it's original place and treat it as though nothing happen even when I deliberately ask you about it. Be responsible! I thought that's what being independent is all about...hmmph!

Damn that's a LONG list!

Actually to sum things up, just be considerate.
That's the key to a full year free of any quarrels & fights *wink*

Oh well...do you guys have anything to add in? =)

I told you that I had a family tradition of eating Mee Suah on the 1st day
It's actually some Chinese belief
That long noodles symbolize long life

All these supersticious stuff
Chinese people are ma-fan like that

Oh yeah forgot to mention that on the reunion dinner
We even bought Pineapple!
*Ong Lai* in hokkien
Which happens to bear the meaning *Luck come* too

So anyways, I didn't feel good about not getting to eat the MeeSuah on the 1st day
Felt like, if I didn't eat it, my life will be shorter like that
Haha

Follow also wrong, don't follow also wrong

Like my mum said, just follow all the pantang-larang that the elders tell you to
So in case anything goes wrong, you won't think that it was because you did not follow it

Which is why, before the 15th day of CNY ended...
I made myself some mee suah!!! =D

Followed what my mum would normally put inside
A generous portion of chicken, dried scallops, large prawns
Which I substituted with some inny-minny frozen shrimps =(

Women's Day Tulip!

Hmmm...I wonder why Women's Day is not celebrated in Malaysia
When over here in Russia, it's so big they made it a public holiday!

Not like I'm complaining la...

Supposedly tonight... 8pm =(

My Daddy is over there on business

Later which they will spend some time with my Aunty over there

I just found out 2 days ago that they were going
Coincidentally today is a public holiday for Russia

Daddy talked me into skipping Friday's class to meet them in Shanghai!

I was undecided at first
Mainly bcos of the need to skip classes and also the cost of the flight
But after checking out the flight
Woohoo!! Just the perfect timing for me to come back in time for classes on Monday

Still undecided....I flipped a coin

It asked me to go!! TWICE!!!
Wah I was so excited I tell you...
Changed and was on my way to get my ticket when SV called and reminded me...
"Hey!! You need Visa to go to China don't you?!"

It was a short working day, and today's a public holiday
There's NO way I could get my visa in time

Apparently not la...I saw 1 small lil dirty head poking out behind the toilet bowl
I slammed the door immediately
And I thought that was it?

Hell I was wrong!

I mopped the floor and upon washing the mop I saw red water
Red water????
Uh oh...I remember I kept my red dye in the lower shelf of my kitchen drawer

I opened it....
And there it was!! A freaking long tail of a stupid rat~!

I was shocked really bcos I wasn't expecting to c it in there =

This shall be the THIRD and LAST TIME of that stupid rat invasion!!
I'm gonna buy myself some rat poison now!
Muahahhahaha

I'm finally sick again
After so long
I think the last time I got sick was right after I came back here after Summer Holidays

I remember bcos I was sick on my 21st bday...
Aishhh...

Not bad eh? Almost half a year being healthy

I think I'm cursed or something
Cursed by myself that is...
I vividly remember telling myself that I haven't been sick for a very long time just 1-2 weeks ago

At that time I also told myself that, despite drinking very little water compared to others, I've never gotten any ulcer for a very long time!
*ya i know i should drink more water than i am right now...working on it*

It has happened before, and it's happening again

And what do you know...
3 days ago, an ulcer formed in my mouth
Argh, damn painful now, it's pretty big too

Today, I am having running nose
Just lucky my fever's not very high

Always jinxing yourself like that*

Or maybe it's my sixth sense eh?
You know, people say girls' sixth sense is the most powerful
Maybe it's my subconscience telling me to get ready to be sick?

I think it might just be the sudden weather change

It's around 0 degress right now
At last...my long awaited Spring is coming =D

But of course, the hot-plate BBQ thingy I had on Saturday didn't help a lot either...

Whatever it is, I must remember not telling myself I haven't been sick for a long time from now on

I'm gonna take the flu meds that SuSenn brought
Those are the most super-kengchao-sleep-inducing flu meds ever ok!

A really Red occasion

To me, there are only 3 things associated with CNY
1. Family
2. AngPow
3. Food
In that order....

Chinese New Year is an occasion which gathers everybody in the family back under one roof
That's the part which is most important to me

Then there is the AngPow(s) that we kids receive
*wait, I am still considered to be a kid since I'm not married yet right? =P*
Some people consider this as their 1st most important thing for CNY though

Food!!
Well coming from the Ooi family, food is what brings us together
People always say "Eat to Live"
But the Ooi family slogan is to "Live to Eat"
*wink*

Well you guys already know that I spent the CNY here in Russia from the last post

So how's CNY in Russia?
What we lack in No.1 & 2, we replaced with No.3
Get it ah?

Haha...
So yeah CNY in Russia is all about the food

Except the stir-fry vege at the side
And various types of mushrooms which are not in the pic

This is our combined effort
Altogether I think there were about 10 dishes here
ALL typical chinese new year dishes, modified with whatever ingredients we can find over here of course

There were Pak Cham Kai, Sweet and sour pork, Stir-fry toufu with bamboo shoots, Kiam Chai Th'ng, Char Yok, Black-Pepper pork, just to name a few...

I took a full day to make these cookies!
Argh it was not an easy task!
It didn't quite come out as I wanted it to
Doesn't matter la, the container was empty by the end of the 1st day
Haha!

You see CNY is not complete without all the cookies
And this is the only 1 I could make here

I wish I could make them here too... :(

And a failed lohbak, bcos the lohbak wrapper was spoilt already, which I then transformed into Black Pepper Pork! hehe...

Seafood is so hard to find & expensive here...
And most of them are frozen anyways

Even the fish here sucks ass! *except the Salmon of course*
They're mostly fresh water fish and they have a very distinct, what we call, "earth taste" on them
Yucks!
No amount of ginger or lemon could cover the taste

RM50 for 1kg of frozen prawns, isn't so bad right?
It's our 1st time trying it btw...
And it really is nice!
Yum I should buy them more often

I wanted to make YeeSang but they said no need wor...=(

To get the CNY spirit

I think that every family have their own traditions for CNY
Let's talk about mine la
On the 1st day, mum will cook us Mee Suah for breakfast
Topped with a chicken drumstick and a few large prawns *yum yum!*
And if we're lucky, we'd have abalone too =D

After which we will visit all the temples in Sg. Ara
Hmmm...let me count...I think there are 3 of them, including one hidden on top of a small hill
THEN we'd go to my grandma's place *which is also in Sg. Ara btw*
This is where all my relatives will come and gather

Yes, I do not go visiting
Haha..I just go and wait for people to come to my grandma's place
Same thing in Taiping!

Some people call this weird but...

It's so sad that this year I didn't get to eat MeeSuah
Cos by the time I got up, it's almost time for lunch with them d
I actually intended to cook a bowl for myself :(

They had a lil gathering at my house
Daddy had people to cater some nasi kandar to our house
New highlight of 1st day of new year
New cause it's a new thing after moving into our new house 2 years ago

After dinner everyone just hang around and chit chat
And the younger cousins will gather round to play cards *a.k.a. gamble*
=P

I called back home in the middle of the gathering
And my mum had them all wave to the CCTV for me
Hahahaha...so cute!
Too bad I didn't have a snapshot of that moment..if not I could show ya'll

I think there were like 50+ people at my house
*Daddy has 10 siblings!*
I just LOVE BIG BIG gatherings like these...

If I could, I wanna marry into a big family too!
So that I can have more of these big gatherings =P

Once you're married, you no longer celebrate these celebrations with your own family
You'd have to celebrate it with your husband's side of the family
That's reality for a girl right?
Which sucks really...

This was last year, I had my friends come over too
After that, we...went clubbing!
Haha...can you imagine? Clubbing on 1st day of CNY
To our surprise there were actually quite a lot of people!

On the 2nd day, we'd travel to Taiping, to my mum's side of the family
These 4 aunties are the most happening thing on CNY!
The house is never quiet with them around :P
Their laughter fills every corner of my grandma's house
They're also the 4 mahjong kaki!

Somehow this year, CNY don't quite feel like CNY without the sound of their laughter :(

Tomorrow, on the 9th day is Hokkien people's New Year!
If you're hokkien you'd know

At 12am tonight we'd burn offerings and pray to Thi Kong
Loads of food which includes a WHOLE ROASTED PIG!
My whole family is savouring that siu bak as I'm typing *cry!*

Oh yeah every year I'd help my mum fold the paper offerings which we would burn on this night
This year, I didn't get to help her =(
Most people just buy the ready made ones nowadays
But my mum made sure she'd fold 500 pieces every year

Yesterday SV, Oli, BC and Me had a lil game of MahJong!
With this small little mahjong set I bought from KekLokSi temple

Cute yeah?
But a bit hard to handle cos it's soooo small
You could say this is the result of watching too many MahJong movies
Haha...now we're addicted to this game

I'm still learning to count the marks
I had always played with my cousins but we dunno the rules and we'd simply play
As long as can win can d...LOL
Now I wanna learn to play the REAL MahJong!

I made sushi today!!!!

All by myself, mind you
Damn proud...Hahahahha...
Yeah I contracted this sushi-making disease from my roomie
She brought all those sushi-making things from Malaysia even on the 1st time she came here

That's how crazy she is for sushi
But hey, not like I'm complaining

Do you know how expensive a plate of sushi is here??!!?!?!?!
6pieces of the sushi with the vegetable filling can cost up to RM10

Siau wan right...no need to mention those with eel and other stuff la...

So naturally I learned how to made it from her too =)

Sushi's actually not that hard to make at all
Except that maybe it takes time...

So here's what you need:

1. 4 cups of sushi rice *After cooked, mix with vinegar, salt & sugar*
Or you could buy the pre-packed vinegar powder available in supermarkets

2. Ingredients
Here I used crabstick, cucumber, avocado and fish roe
You can put whatever ingredient you like la

Honestly I prefer those roe from SushiKing
But I couldn't find them here
So I replaced it with these small fish roe with mayonaise & salmon

Depending on how *fat* you want your sushi to be
Normally I cover about half till 2/3 of the nori sheet

Use your fingers to press the rice onto the sheet
Remember to wet your fingers with either water/vinegar b4 you handle the rice
To prevent them from sticking to your hand

The more, the merrier
That's my moto...hahahah

Then you add on the ingredients layer by layer

Then you roll it up slowly with the bamboo
Remember to compress the roll as you roll it up so that the roll is compact

Then coat the end piece of the nori with water/vinegar to let it stick
Close both sides of the roll with more rice

Cut it up into pieces...and serveeee

I don't think I've ever felt this kind of stress for a very long time
Most of the time I'd just try to be happy go lucky
That is...until exam is nearing
Dry skin, eyebags, cold sweat, lack of nutrition, diarrhoea, messy-frizzy hair, WHITE hair!!!
You name it, I've got it all..

Well ya so maybe I am not that smart anymore
Now I actually DO need to study for my exams
Honestly speaking, I think my brain is karat already
It needs an oil-change

Anyways...I was literarily skipping/hopping in the corridor outside the exam hall after the exam
Couldn't stop smiling either
Hope nobody think I was nuts =P

I cannot believe it...
1 full month of torture for just less than 30 minutes of exam
Which consists like 5%? of the entire material that I have read??

Anyways I was really lucky to get a really nice examiner

But then I think it all comes down to what you know
Not the results that you get *Ok maybe this only applies for students in Russia*

Yes...I had practically like what...18 hours of Winter Holiday!!~!!

And then today teacher had some great news for me!!!!!!

That means I have a total of 4 full days of...ummm..Post-winter holidays!!!!

Winter sales is still on, although at the very last few days
Bah cannot bear watching other ppl go shopping, coming home with bags of new apparels
When I was stuck at home with my books!

I actually did a tiny bit of shopping yesterday itself right after the exam
Grabbed 2 tops that was on sale
2 spaghetti-strap tops
Yeah...it's winter sales but the ones that are ON sales are summer clothes

Oh yeah did I tell you how this year's winter SUCKS???

Number 1, it started late!
Which means we might have snow till April/May *damnit*
Number 2, why the air so dry???!!!?!!?!?!

The air is SO dry it's sucking the moisture from my skin!!!
Honestly this is the 1st time I'm experiencing chapped skin of my whole 4 years here
Either it's the weather...OR I'm growing old *which is never good news* ...

And the bad news is...no amount of moisturizer can help me
It burns whenever I put anything on my face

Maybe it's a sign!!
Maybe it's telling me that I cannot stand a long Winter
I went back every winter since 1st year
This is the 1st time I'm staying in Moscow for the entire duration of Winter

Maybe it's telling me...that I should go back to Penang!!!! =P

New quilt, pillow madness

I just bought a new quilt from Ikea!!!
*squeals with joy!~*

Yaih!! I've been wanting to get a new 1 for quite some time now
(come to think of it, it was a LONG time, like 3 years!)
Haha...I couldn't get myself to buy one
Because everytime I'm at the shop I'd stare at all the available choices
Couldn't make a decision
Told myself I'd come back another day and walk back home empty handed

This is HOW indecisive I can be sometimes
So I'm trying to change

I've always wondered how some people could be SO sure of what they want
You know those kind who has a lot of principles
I came to a conclusion that it's just making a choice
And sticking by that choice, no matter what
No regrets....

So yeah, I'm learning =)

So there I was in IKEA looking at 2 choices
Down feather, or just ordinary polyester filling
Both around the same price somemore!
I was about to make the same mistake I make everytime by walking away since I didn't want to make the decision this time but I said "Fook it. I'm gonna get it today!"

So I got the normal polyester one because...
At least I can use this 1 in summer too!
Down feather would just be too warm then
And besides the down feather of the same price is of lower grade
The feathers poke my fingers when I feel it

And then hoh!! Somemore the polyester wan got 3 types oh!
Thick, medium and thin...
I took medium =P
Easy la no need to decide...haha!

I've also always wanted to sleep on top of a double-decker since I was small
But I never had a chance to bcos we don't have 1
So when me and SuSenn decided to buy a double-decker
I straight away grabbed the top! =P
So now I'm no longer that "sam pat"

Yes, I am a pillow freak
I love sleeping with a lot of pillows surrounding me
Hmmph!! This habit also caught it from my bro wan
Thanks to all the ghost stories he tells me b4 bedtime during our childhood!!!

God damn those bugs
I've tried so many ways but I'm still unable to get rid of them
Heat (by iron..hehe..cos they die in temp ~>50!), countless bottles of pesticides, vacuuming....
Why are they still hereeeeeeeeee??

It's driving me crazy ok

However I have yet to visually find a bedbug myself
Despite several attempts of waiting till 1 hour b4 dawn
(That's like 5-6am! Bcos that's the time they come out to feed)
Cos they are visible to the naked-eye

I did so much research online about them I feel like a pro already

After about a month of hibernation or whatever, they suddenly decided they're hungry enough to come out to draw more of MY blood (Or worse, the eggs hatched!!)
Damn!
I have so many bites on my body I've lost count of them
Neck, back, thigh, shoulders, stomach, ....
It's everywhere

The weird thing is...
Me and my roomie shares a wooden double decker bed you see
I'm on the top deck, she's below
AND she has not a single bite on her!!
How can? Why they wanna torture me but not her??!!

This world is so unfair I tell ya, and so are those bugs
I dunno if it's true or not but Oli told me she read somewhere that those buggers like O blood group
